Our second bag of goodies arrived last week from American Tackle Company. Well, it was actually a box, but it did have a bunch of goodies in it. One of the perks of being on Pro Staff with American Tackle Co is that throughout the year we receive $1000 worth of components, blanks, and merchandise to test and promote. This was our second installment of the pro-staff shipments from ATC, and it was loaded with good stuff.

This shipment contained a couple window real seats, and several Titan titanium guides in both single foot and stripping. All of these components we use regularly. In fact, the Titan guides are what we use for our titanium guide upgrade package, because in our opinion they are the best guides out there.

The package also contained the new chrome lite fly tops, that we are extremely impressed with, and the product we are the most excited about another Matrix Fly Rob blank. This one is a 4pc 9 ft 4wt in the matrix green, but they also come in grey. We have been experimenting and building on these blanks the last few months, and are loving what we see. They are light, but still fast with plenty of power to really launch some line. The way the fibers are woven in the matrix design also makes for one of the best looking blanks out there.

We like them so much that we will probably be adding another line to Revolt Series built on these blanks. They are only being produced for custom builders, so give us a call or fill out our Order Form if you are interested in having one built before we get the series up on the site. In slightly less cool news, we were hoping to get into the Cascade Lakes for some high lake trout fishing tomorrow, but the roads are still covered in snow! Oh #FlyFishingProblems! Hopefully we can give a report very soon!

The Fly Rod...Customized

Yes, our name is True West Custom Fly Rods, and our main passion is building and customizing the fly rod. This is because we are primarily fly fisherman, and a day on the water with a well designed and built fly rod is what gets us excited. However, this does not mean that we are fly-fishing snobs. In fact, both Nathan and I grew up gear fishing, and will from time to time even go back to our roots when the fishing situation calls for it.
